USA Consumer’s rights and dispute process about your Consumer Report

Pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a Consumer has the right to:

  • Request a copy of your Credit Report and if applicable, the file used in a theft.
  • Dispute inaccuracies with a Credit Reporting Agency.
  • Be informed if information has been used against you.
  • Limit access to your report for the valid purpose.
  • Add a fraud alert or credit freeze to block access.
  • Disagree with the outcome and they can provide additional evidence supporting your claim.
  • File a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trading Commission, your State Attorney General, the Credit Reporting Agency and the Data Furnisher directly.
